Impounds
What to do if your vehicle is impounded?

You will need proof of Current Registration, or Title attached with a copy of your drivers license to access your vehicle. You may also get a temporary moving permit from the DMV if you do not have Title or Registration.

Releasing a vehicle is available for the Registered owner or Legal owner ONLY! If the owner is unable to access the vehicle, they may designate an agent to act on their behalf and access the car. With this form provided by us, they must still provide proof of ownership and photo ID's for both the owner and the agent. This form must also be notarized. It may be returned by fax, email, or in person.

If you are unable to come to the yard during business hours, you must pay a gate fee of $88.00. We do not accept partial payments for impound releases. Charges must be paid in full at time of pick up.

All impounds are charged according to our tariff on file with the state of Nevada. Please note that no employee can change these fees.

What to do if you cannot afford your impound

First - You should be aware that if you are a registered owner, or the legal owner, you are liable for all charges incurred on the vehicle.

You essentially have two options;

1st - You have 47 days to come up with the money to release your vehicle before we become legal owner of the vehicle. Please note that storage fees are added daily, and a first and second lien fee are added after a certain amount of days. This is why it is important for you to pick up your vehicle as soon as possible!

After 47 days, you are no longer able to pick up your vehicle or retrieve belongings from it.

2nd - If you cannot pay the bill, you may turn in the Title to us and you will no longer be liable for the charges. At that point, you may retrieve your items out of the vehicle if you wish. You cannot take anything attached to the vehicle. This includes batteries, stereos, tires, etc.

If you miss any items during your first visit, and leave the yard, you must pay $72.60 for a second visit fee. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the office.

Accidents
What to do if your car is in an accident?

1st - Call your insurance agent.
2nd - Release your vehicle through our tow yard
This requires a signed release form along with proof of ownership: Title or Current Registration, and your Photo ID.
3rd- (If necessary) A release from your local law enforcement agency; Sparks Police, Reno Police, Washoe County, or Nevada Highway Patrol.
While at the yard, please remove all personal belongings and your plates if you think your vehicle is non-repairable.

Your first visit is free, all other visits are $72.60.

Only the registered owner or legal owner of the vehicle may have access to the vehicle. If the owner is unable to come the yard they may ask for a designation of agent. This form must be completed by the owner and notarized. Items 1, 2, and 3 must still accompany the designation of agent before any visit to or release of a vehicle is allowed.

If you are unable to come to the yard during normal business hours you must pay a $88.00 gate fee in cash. All releases must be paid in cash or by credit card. The card holder must be present. We do not accept checks or over the phone payments.

You should be aware that we are not a wrecking yard. You are responsible for all charges incurred on your vehicle. If you do not have full coverage insurance, you must make arrangements here with an employee to dispose of your vehicle. Disposing of your vehicle is NOT free of charge. You must pay for the towing fees and turn in title. It is unlawful to abandoned your vehicle in a tow yard. By claiming your items you claim responsibility for the debt incurred from the towing and the disposal of your vehicle.

We are happy to work with you and make payment arrangements if necessary.
